This pressure cooker is of good quality and offers excellent value. I have been very pleased with the results; food really does cook very fast, and even root vegetables can be steamed in only a few minutes. There are three safety valves so it is completely safe, although the hissing can be a little alarming until you get used to it. The minimum quantity of water recommended (300 ml) is, I think, too little, and the cooker almost boiled dry the first time I used it – I suggest at least 400 ml. And for steaming you will need a trivet, which is not supplied, to keep the basket out of the water. The manufacturer’s helpdesk sent me one free when I complained.

Very disappointing. Bought this as a present for my mother and it really doesn’t work effectively on her cooker. When you read the WHOLE instruction book ( and let’s be realistic, how many of us really do) you find that after having bought it, and used it once, it is “not suitable for use with ceramic, halogen or induction hobs”. How many of us does that exclude with no prior warning? After trying it myself, I discovered that the bottom is so unflat, the cooker can’t really reach sensible pressure levels and takes forever to get up there. It really rocks on the hob, and I don’t mean that in a good way!

I wish I’d bought one years ago! It’s simple to use, saves time and money and helps me serve fantastic meals. A cheap joint of beef is cooked to tasty, tender, mouth-watering perfection in 15 minutes. It’s far more versatile than I had expected; there’s not much you can’t cook in it! The pan is lighter than I expected, which is a blessing when it’s full of casserole, and although it does hiss when it’s at full steam, it’s not at all the scary monster I thought it might be. I heartily recommend this product to anyone in charge of serving daily, home-cooked meals.

I received my Tower Pressure Cooker 4 litre size very quickly. It was just what I wanted. I have since cooked delicious minced steak and vegetables including potatoes in it all at the same time. It is great for cooking meals in just one pot. It is also great for soups . The average time for cooking all these is 20 minutes.

I have a ceramic cooker and I cannot get pressure up beyond the first yellow marker. There are two more markers on the valve – blue and red – to indicate increasing pressure which is needed for a lot of recipes. Tower help desk said they had trouble with the pressure release valve which they replaced for me FOC. However, this has made no difference, and pressure will still not rise high enough. The lady on the help desk said the cooker needs ‘a good blast of heat’ and I think Amazon needs to make it clearer that this pressure cooker is not suitable for ceramic hobs. Mine now resides in the cupboard, unless I’m making soup, which is about all it will make for me.
